Today, we celebrate World Patient Safety Day. This year's theme is 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆.

As a Trust, with the support of our community, we work to ensure that the New Zealand Flying Doctor team have the best equipment and training to allow them to provide the best care to the patients they transport around the country.

This year we are supporting 5 flight nurses to attend the Aeromedical Conference in Christchurch next week where they will hear about topics including emergency management and Aeromedical interface, developing the international standard for the transport of infectious patients and bridging the gap in health inequities for those living in the rural and remote regions.

One of the flight nurse team, Charmaine is presenting on the first day of the conference, she recently completed her Masters of Health Science in Aeromedical Retrieval and Transport and is presenting some of her research findings, continuing the cycle of sharing.
