Lyn Thomas- Development Director
The Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust is thrilled to announce the appointment of Lyn Thomas as Development Director for both the Air Rescue Trust and the New Zealand Flying Doctors Trust.
Lyn made the transition into fundraising in 2009. Her first long-term role was working as Head of Supporter Relationships for Blind & Low Vision (and Guide Dogs). More recently she has worked as a consultant for the Heart Foundation, Hibiscus Hospice, North Shore Hospice, Pinc & Steel Cancer Rehab and Neurological foundation, and held a Board position for Project Jonah (Whale & Dolphin rescue) for 2 years.
Speaking on her appointment Lyn says, “My role is fundraising, working with individuals and businesses to raise funds for both Trusts, to support the running of the services and build funds for future growth. I also work with people who are interested in leaving a gift in their Will (or a living gift while they are alive); which helps support our work for future generations.”
When asked about what motivated Lyn to join the Trust she said, “The reputation of the trust and the vital work it undertakes, was a major motivation. Seeing the helicopter or plane going out, reminds me every day why I am here, and the incredible work that this organisation undertakes.”
Lyn can be contacted on her email: email@example.com or by phone 021 288 3198
